Health should not be a matter of chance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing can be achieved without good health. No vision can be realized, no mission fulfilled, and no project implemented. That’s why it is of great importance to us. With the “Mobile Health Unit” project, we are advocating for reliable and regular healthcare. The “Mobile Health Unit” is a health bus that has been traveling from village to village six days a week since 2006, with the clear target of maintaining the health of our farming families and village communities. The bus has already covered over 196,000 kilometers, successfully treated more than 139,881 patients, and conducts life-enhancing health checks for over 2,500 school children every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


There is much more to the mobile health bus: self-determination and empowerment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Mobile Health Unit” is an investment in the autonomy and independence of farming families. In addition to medical care, it educates people about health and hygiene issues. Improved health understanding promotes self-reliance and personal responsibility among the local population. A significant focus is on the health of girls and women. Education on family planning, menstrual hygiene, and mental health is emphasized, with the awareness that these are often taboos that need to be addressed for sustainable development. A fundamental understanding of how the female body, especially the female cycle, works allows girls and women to make decisions about the number of children they have. This strengthens the self-determination and influence of women on the societal and economic development of villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topics such as nutrition, infectious diseases related to unclean water, skin conditions, and other communicable diseases are important educational goals of the “Mobile Health Unit.”<\/p>\n\n\n

Behind every strong project there are strong people<\/strong>
Dr. Shahina Ansari and her team are responsible for the health bus. Dr. Shahina is an exceptional woman and doctor who has tirelessly advanced and developed the project over the last 17 years. She is a power woman who has turned an initially skeptical endeavor into a respected and highly valued project. Growing up in a small town called Harpalpur as the daughter of a doctor, her interest in medicine was ingrained from a young age. It was only natural for her to pursue a career in medicine and surgery. With her openness, tireless dedication, and professionalism, she and her team have gained the trust of the people, brought about a change in mindset, and earned recognition and appreciation from the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The health bus faces new challenges
<\/strong>The demand for the “Mobile Health Unit” is steadily increasing, and medical issues are becoming more complex. A broader range of specialties, modern medical equipment, and more space are urgently needed to continue providing competent healthcare advice. A change in legislation also presents a new challenge for the healthcare team: due to its age, the bus is no longer allowed to circulate in traffic. Therefore, there is no way around acquiring a new bus for the planned expansion. The purchase of a new bus and modern equipment is expected to be financed by the bioRe Foundation with a donation of a total of CHF 200,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
